GMail Autopilot

At first I was like WTH and then I realized it was April 1st :). I don't quite remember what google did last year but I vaugly remember something to do with space or something called google paper. It was interesting then as well.

Looks like I am getting better at not making a fool of myself these days ;). He he.

KungFu Panda

I LOVED THE MOVIE & PO, START TO FINISH.

Its just been minutes since I came back from the movie and I wanted to blog about it :).

The movie was a total entertained with gyaan, inspiration, feelings and humor at every turn even when you thought things were turning too serious.

One thing Oogway said left me thinking.

Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a Mystery. Today is a gift. That is why it is called the Present ;).

Get It? Of course its an old say, but only today did I get to hear it :). Nice!

The movie was so full of messages put behind a veil of humor and presented with the grandios of CGI. AWESOME!

Po's dream was so captivating. Somethings kids do dream of :). I've once dreamed of fighting the skaarj warrior although I had no intent on becoming one unlike Po :p. I guess the other thing that led me to love this movie was that I always enjoyed movies like - "Drunken Master" and "36th chamber of shaolin" kinds. Again that element was there again.

Thankfully the climax was good as well. I was afraid it would spoil the movie like in "Happy Feet". But it was fun :).

If you ever felt you had similar taste in movies as I do, then DON'T MISS THIS MOVIE! Trust me in that you'll walk out with a wide smile and plenty of food for thought as well :).

Right & Wrong

I just happened to have this long conversation yesterday evening with my friend who'd come back from ausi for bride hunt and this statement just came up in the middle. Apparently he doesn't know the origin of this statement either. Here is how it goes :).

Women 1st take the right decision and then thinking they took the right turn take a battery of wrong decisions then on :p.

Men on the other hand start off with a wrong decision and then take the right ones being wary of the 1st ;).

I just couldn't resist but laugh at it. Not that I completely bought it but nevertheless I am a pretty normal guy who tends to find fun in statements with talk on the follies of women :D.

Of course, what is right and wrong is a point-of-view / matter-of-opinion. Talking in absolutes in B.S. But then I do find such statements (he-she kind) entertaining :).

I wonder how women would retort to the above statement. Perhaps some would be bold enough of accept it. Or that just a vain hope I shouldn't indulge in.

Sundal Season

The best thing about Navrathri / Dhushera is the influx of sundal. Just not the ones made at home but ones that my mum gets from the places she visits. Oh yes! I made a pact with her long back that she got to get them for "me". One of the perks of being the only child at home ;).

Ever since we moved to West Mambalam, its never been quite like in our appartment in Ashok Nagar. Maybe the network on ppl has gone down. Somehow the same energy ain't there at home. Reminds me of me and grandpa constructing the 10/11 golu steps after unloading them all from the loft. It was like a piece of engineering :D, and physical too. I used to make petty stuff with dancing light LCD with mini electronic kits to adore lord Ganesh. Not to mention the parks that I'd make by seeding raagi a week earlier. It was nice watching the women and gals draped in grand sarees / pattu pavadai's on their seasonal errands.

I somehow miss all that. Maybe I have joined the bandwagon of people lost in the corporate world. It really sucks having to work on saraswathi pooja / vijayadhasami day, esp. when they fall on a weekend. But thats how life goes for me.

But on the bright side, I still get my sundals :) *slurp*. Pattani sundal today. Two round complete, one more to go before dinner :D. What a season to start with a tummy #-o.

Hungama @ Horsley Hills

Life is driving me nuts! So I pitched in to a weekend trip with my gang in the last minute, blogger gODo inclusive. Awesome fun, it was. I don't know to swim, yet I somehow managed to run down and jump into the pool ;)). Hey, I summoned that much for having no clue about swimming :). (Shhhh! It was only 5 feet deep :D). Time is at premium now :(, so I'll leave with some photos. Btw, for those who can make it, its a lovely retreat when you want to go without any major plans just to chill.

Well there was more fun ;) (the pool was just the tip of the iceberg), but think I'd leave it here for now. Adios amigos.

Lets Find Love

Hello folks,

The Rebelz are back with a new production with a desi motif! This time with another story-line that you and I can relate to ;). Even for those who've already found love :p. For that matter everyone of our generation.

What sparked off as a conversation we had during a nightout at the shores of mAmallapuram now stands manifested as LFL. (Read the Big Q section here to get into context.) This time they've got live music too. The background score in being played by one of the guyz rebelz. You can listen to the title song and get a sneak peak of the cast here. They may not be like those you see on the silver screen like whome many fantasize to be but thats not how the guy/gal who lives next door is :). Ain't it so?

I don't wanna reveal too much and end up writing a spoiler. But I can say that it does answer a big question that many of us have faced or asked others. Why is it that you don't have a girl/boyfriend? Oh yesss!

So just come over and see it for yourself. I am sure many of you regular listeners of FM might have heard interviews by their team over the last 1 week. The Hedgehog Concept

Interestingly it ain't something unnatural and yet uncommon ;).

I've been stuck with David Blain fever lately. For those who ain't aware of him, he is one of the finest magicians of the day who'd dare to do magic right amongst us on the streets rather than on stage. AXN seems to be featuring shows on his daring attempts at prime-time. If you are someone who loves magic then you'd sure be out of words :). His presentation with an eerie tone makes it all the more alluring. As for those who can't you can watch plenty of stuff here. Adios.

Cat on my window

I lurve pets although I don't have one around. But then therz plenty around our house, visiting now and then of course. Today I was just on my terminal strangely without the music turned on. I just got up and noticed this fellow happily sleeing in the shade. Probably taking cover from the heat. Thats when I realized how silent my room was. Gosh! How could I do such a thing *duh*.

Anywayz, I really love the way a cats face looks with their eyes closed. ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE I say. Their rosy nose oscillating up and down mildly for every breath, its some beautiful sight. I managed to click a couple of pics without disturbing him. I was afraid the mild sound of the shutter could wake him up but it didn't :). Almost luks like its hugging itself snuggly ;)). For some reason I find their big prying ears adding to their loveliness :D.

Glad I could show him to my mom before I woke him up. She said it is cunning, waiting for the squirrels to come around and then chase em. From the blissful state in which he was and the comfortably sluggishness with which he got off the window, I think not. Lovely whiskers too.

Wonder if women would be cute with cat like whiskers (not a mush or a beard) ;)). I think so :D. Esp. someone with a spark in eyes ;).

Flaunting to fill your stomach

A month or two back I been to a good-bye dinner as one of the girl in our group is leaving after her marriage. We did spend an entire afternoon (a long time ago) getting a worthy gift for her, which was the best part of the evening. The rest was Whine & Dine for me. Not entirely whining, but I was wondering if it was worth it. Do read this sarcastic and mocking article in The Hindu (courtesy iCEeYZ). Much of what is said there is truly what happens.

Most of the time we go to one of the fanciest of places with the fatter menu card (by pricing). All of a sudden it has become a symbol of status. The excuse - once we all get married we would not have an opportunity to spend time and/or money this way *duh*.

Starting off with some unknown starters people laud at the wierly named delicacies. Oh btw, that was a decision made even before tasting it. Order some variety of indian bread, pick some exotic sounding side dishes and usually more than required wasting the rest. It is pretty much the same EVERYTIME. I havent tasted something really exotic as they claim, probably because I ain't a connoisseur of food. But then the folks at the table start saying, "WOW, this stuff is amazing guys. Dont miss it!".

I am not gonna go around saying there are people without square meals a day and we spend like this. Its been so and it will continue to be, and I ain't gonna make a statement as to how one should choose to spend money. Neither am I against such flaunting per se. Most of the time we'd console ourselves saying that we had a great time together. Ain't that what it is all about? So why do we depend on some extravagent indulgence as an excuse to be with people?

Strange that we have come to equating spending money lavishly with having a good time with people.
